NOTE: No two groups are the same, as a result there will be a lot of things that you find around Sea of Sin RPG, that you will not find anywhere else. One of those things is most likely going to be some of the answers to these F.A.Q. Should you have a question, to which the answer can not be found on our page, within our rules, or below, do feel free to drop us a line, and we will get you that answer. .

Do I need to know all the fandoms?

No, the fandoms we have featured are not even all of the fandoms we incorporate into the rpg, so there is no way we expect you to know all of them. As long as you have a basic knowledge of the fandom that you are most heavily linked with, and know your character, that is really what we worry most about. We're AU after all, so there will most certainly be a lot that doesn't happen in SOS, that happened in the show/movie/book.

What are the activity requirements?

Communication, is first and foremost. We need to know if you're not able to be around for an extended period of time, or we will be forced to remove you. After that, we ask that you post enough to not let stories die. As you really get going into the rpg we do believe that you will never be caught up, if you are, then we're not doing our jobs (in our opinion) so we don't have a certain number of posts per week or month, just as long as you show some activity.

Do you have/require LINE or Discord?

Yes. As of summer 2020, we have moved here to my forum rp site, so we require Discord for ooc communication and updates, and then obviously you'll need to join the forum site, but just think about it, anymore most people have discord, and one more account, is all you'll need, because even if you make more characters in SOS, they can all be done on one profile.

What if I don't know how to work a forum site?

That's alright, because you're communicating, which is a requirement in our rules, and one of the activity requirements even listed here in the FAQ, so we know that, and, as a result, we're willing to help you.

I've never written in groups before, is that an issue?

No, a couple of our members didn't write in groups before they joined us, so we certainly won't hold that against you.

Are death's permanent?

The simple answer? Nope, they're not permanent at all. One of the bonus' with running a megaverse, is you can die, and be resurrected, you can remain a ghost, you can drop the character, however you want to do it. We have a cemetery where we bury our dead, just in memory of who all we have killed, but just because you've been buried there, doesn't mean you have to remain there.

Who is the staff for the RPG?

Staff is listed is given special tags within the discord, but currently the staff is myself, the original owner/founder of the rpg Torili Mikaelson, our co-owner Stefan Salvatore, our moderator Jayden Andrews and our coder Daenerys Targaryen.

Do you require closed friend lists?

As stated in our rules, if you desire to keep your page on rper.me, that is entirely up to you. If you wish to lock or keep your friend list open, again, entirely up to you. We do not restrict who you can write with, we merely restrict who you can write with, within the rpg, as in, not everyone is a member, so not everyone will have access.

 
I'm not heavy into horror/gore type stories.

That's alright, with a wide range of verses, and thus characters, we do have stories that do not involve gore, and most of them do not involve horror.

Why can't I register for an account?

Because due to bots, trolls, and haters, the forum has been locked so that new accounts can not be made. As a result you will have to go through me (the forum owner), in order to get a profile on the site.

I was a member of the rpg, but my request password doesn't work.

Currently only members of the rpg are allowed on the forum, so when a member is removed, their account is deleted, which means even if you had a profile on here, you don't anymore, so there is no password to recover.

Can I join the forum, without joining the rpg?

At one point in time we had this as an option, however we have sense closed the forum off to non members.

If I can't join the forum, how do I become a member?

You have to start by filling out an audition form -- > here <-- Remember to fill it out completely.

If I can't register for an account, how can I get one on the site even after accepted as a member?

After you are accepted into the rpg, the owner of the forum (Tor), will create a profile for you, and provide you with the information and further instructions.
